Ambassador: Taliban wants Russia to develop Afghanistan’s resources

MOSCOW, Aug 26 (PRIME) -- The Taliban, sanctioned as a terrorist organization under the Russian law, are open for Russia’s participation in the economy of Afghanistan, including development of natural resources, ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov said in an interview with YouTube channel Solovyov.Live late on Wednesday.

“The Taliban are open for our participation in the economy, including subsurface development, it is an issue to be discussed by our businesses,” he said.

The Taliban seized Kabul without fighting on August 15, forcing President Ashraf Ghani to resign and leave the country.
